We index your own information pages: treatment descriptions, price list, reimbursement rules, insurance agreements, opening hours, location, parking, treatment preparation, aftercare instructions. The bot answers patient questions 24/7 with source references so the patient can click through to more detailed information.

Appointment booking with e-ID login is the biggest time-saver. The patient authenticates via a national e-ID scheme (such as BankID, MitID or itsme) or your patient login, picks a treatment type, sees available times from your calendar in real time (Outlook, Google Calendar, or your clinic system), and confirms with one click. You get the booking straight into the calendar; the patient gets an email confirmation and an SMS reminder before the appointment. For clinics with 50+ appointment requests a week that is 5–10 hours of front-desk time saved weekly.

For health legislation’s confidentiality requirements (medical confidentiality rules, patient-record law, GDPR Article 9 on special categories of personal data) we have a specially adapted data-processing agreement. The data lives in your own tenant on European servers in Germany, is encrypted in transit and at rest, and conversations are never used to train general models. Our redaction policy automatically masks national ID numbers, diagnoses and other sensitive details not needed in the conversation itself. The bot never gives medical advice — symptom assessment, diagnosis questions and indication evaluations are always escalated to a human, deliberately, to avoid any risk of misinformation.

What is the need for clinics and health services?+

Can the chatbot take appointment bookings?+

Yes, with secure authentication via national e-ID schemes (such as BankID, MitID or itsme) or your own patient login. The patient logs in, picks a treatment type and an available time from your calendar, and confirms. We integrate with common calendar systems (Outlook, Google Calendar, or your clinic system). The patient gets an email confirmation and an SMS reminder before the appointment.

What about confidentiality and health data?+

Health legislation (medical confidentiality rules, patient-record law and the GDPR) sets strict requirements. Astrove is built to be safe: conversations stay in your own tenant in Germany, are never shared onwards or used as training data, and our redaction policy masks personal health details that are not needed in the conversation. We provide a data-processing agreement tailored to the healthcare sector before any contract is signed.

Can the chatbot answer medical questions?+

The bot answers FAQ questions with source references to your own information: what the treatment involves, duration, price, coverage, preparation, aftercare. It does not give medical advice and always escalates to a human for symptom assessment, diagnosis questions or indication evaluations. This is deliberate — the risk of misinformation is too high.

What about reimbursement and insurance?+

We train the bot on your own reimbursement rules and insurance agreements. It can answer “what does the public scheme reimburse for this treatment?”, “do you have an agreement with my insurer?”, “what does an examination cost without reimbursement?” based on your own source material. Complex reimbursement cases are escalated to the front desk or your insurance coordinator.

What does it cost for a mid-sized clinic?+

The chatbot module is €0/month — you pay only for the AI usage that actually happens, typically a few cents per patient conversation, on prepaid credit. Standard setup via Google Tag Manager is free. If you need special integrations (calendar, e-ID, reimbursement database, patient-record system), we quote them concretely up front — you get a firm number, not a “from” price.
